Chris
Davis (Ton Up Baits) Drawn in the 'shallow
half' of the lake, Ton up Baits backed Chris Davis didn't fancy
peg 5 half as much as Rolf! However, Rolf was confident that Chris
would find a few fish as he had seen alot of carp here during the
week. As is usua,l the fisheries owner was not wrong and Chris soon
found himself with the elastics at full stretch on a bitterly cold
day. Fishing predomently sweetcorn on the hook with loose offerings
of 4mm pellet Chris managed to keep himself ahead of the chasing
pack and turned out winner on the day with a heafty 164lb.
Gary
Thorpe (Ton up Baits) - Drawn on a winter playground
for carp, Peg 14, Gary wasted no time in setting the pace for the
rest to keep tabs on. However, having to fish at 16m to reach the
'bar' and a run of smaller carp let team mate Chris take victory
in a tight fight for the top spot. Gary finished just one good fish
short of the winner with a net busting 156lb - not bad for a COLD
November day? .
With
5 Anglers taking over 100lb the whole lake looked to chase with
carp weights, forgetting that the pool includes a silver fish match
one lucky anglers switched very late on and took a double figure
bag for the spoils! I wonder how many more times the coin will be
overlooked this winter? not too many I'm sure!
Sweetcorn
continues to be the bait over potted pellet at distance as the water
temperature drops away to the winter lows. With mid week mild weather
forecasted again the carp should dominate next weekend too.
