REVIEW

SUNDAY BEST

With the water temperature dropping from last weeks high of 69f to a cooler 64f the Carp took a momentary rest from spawning for a spot of Sunday Lunch!!

M Burns (Stevens Tackle) drew yesterday's winning Peg 8 and never looked back from there.   Fishing tight over he took fish including a hand full of good doubles in a net-busting 181-04. Again, Soft Pellet over Pellet was the winning tactic.   Slapheads backed Peter Wedgebrow took the short trip from the car park to Peg 34 to find plenty of fish milling around the bank and cruising up and down the buoy area.   Peter fished tight against the bank, and on the deck about 4m out towards the buoys, for another net busting weight of 177-08 and second place.   In the other Corner of the 'small' lake on Peg 4 was Oxford MG's Derek Hammond, Derek fished at around 8m on the deck for 117lb and 3rd place.

Meanwhile 'Ginger' (Slapheads) on Peg 30 produced a cracking 107-08 from a peg that is less than fancied at the draw-bag.   The last time this peg produced a Ton plus bag the weather, like today, blew rain sideward's.   However, Ginger fished long and up in the water on difficult day to present such a bait.

Overall, the lake fished well after a slow start, many anglers returned 50lb+ bags on a day that produced Seven Tons. Not surprisingly most of the pegs are taken for next weeks match.   Book early to avoid disappointment.

On an admin matter, Rolf would like to remind all anglers that Cat food is banned - as is taking any tins to the Venue.

Moreover, Fish that weigh 8lb + should be weighed, dipped and returned. Any fish 10lb + placed in a keepnet will be deducted from the Anglers weight. Anglers unsure of the rules should check on the day or better still read the rules on this web-site.
