| REVIEW | |||
| A combination of a blast of cooler weather and the fact that the carp are getting ready to spawn put a halt on the recent good run of match weights. Prior to the draw a lot of carp were seen to be milling around the top and most were confident of a good result. However, as the match progressed, not many fish were taken up in the water as anglers went deeper in search of bites. Kevin Arathoon (Cokeheads) drawn on fancied Peg 8 was one of the few anglers to get consistent bites and concentrated on the deck for a winning total of 113-04-0. Kevin mostly fished pellet over pellet for his winning haul. Kevin was also drawn on one of four Golden Pegs. Ain 't life tuff someday's! Not too far away in the corner was Verulan AC's Ben Anderson. Ben fished out at 13m after the inside line failed to produce. The switch worked for ben who finished second just short of the Ton with 98-08-0. In third place was lake regular John Lees (Oxford MG) with 88-04-0 from Peg 27. John also found the fishing slow going with the only bites to come from the deck. “Book Early for the Next Weekend - Very Few Pegs remaining” |
