Ian
Higgins (Ton Up Baits) Fishing just 4ft out tight to his
right hand bank, Ian took an extended run of fish for a net busting
230lb 12oz on mostly sweetcorn hook baits. Feeding heavy between
Peg 7 and Peg 6 was the key for the Ton Up Baits backed angler.
At times Ian lashed in the loose feed as the Carp responded to his
attacking approach.
John
Lees (Ton Up Baits) From the popular winter peg 14, Ton
Up Baits backed John attacked his peg at 5m with heavy loose fed
offerings of Ton Up Pellet (4&6mm) for a competitive 193lb 4oz.
As is normal for Peg 14 a good return of smaller fish contributed
to the weight.
Elsewhere
- Mathew Nutt (Prestwood and Districted) was the only other angler
to return a Ton Plus weight to the scales. Fishing from Peg 17 the
Prestwood man took most of his fish on Pellet hook baits. A great
deal of anglers started too far out (9-14m) and those that switched
to a close line early reaped the benefits with 50lb Plus bags. Pellet
and Corn combinations have started to score as temperatures start
to plummet.
