Trevor
Price (Ton Up Baits) No stranger to winning at Rolfslake,
Trevor added yet another win to his list at the Sunday Open with
a double Ton from Peg 3. Fishing exclusively paste on the hook on
a short line the Ton Up Baits backed angler pushed himself to the
top spot with a consistent run of good fish for his 212lb 08oz.
Norman
Youlden (Epson Angling Club) Fishing the out of favor peg
19, Norman Youlden pushed Trevor all the way to wire with a Pellet
based weight of 191lb 8oz. Norman stated fishing to his right on
the first shelf but found the going a little slow. A switch to fishing
the second shelf (about 4ft from the bank) produced a better run
of carp. With his elastic stretched for the best part of the match
Norman enjoyed the mid-October sun a little more than others. Although
with 10 weights over 100lb and 6 over 150lb there were few grumbles
in this part of Oxfordshire this Sunday.
Elsewhere
- Fishing well with sweetcorn taking more and more fish as water
temperatures drop. Expect a few good weights if the frosts stay
away as forecasted.
