| Aint 'alf hot Mum! Once again, the Carp continued to spawn in the hot and sunny conditions. Likewise, some carp did feed to and those who mastered fishing up in the water at distance (14m Plus) took a good number of fish. The top five all broke a Ton and VDE's Mark Sawyer returned a near 65lb bag for 10th place on Peg 14. It was the Wedgebrow brothers from Slapheads that made the most of their allotted pegs with a match winning 174-04 from Peg 34 for Colin Wedgebrow, whilst brother Peter took 107-08 from Peg 9. Colin took most of his fish 4m from the bank in the direction of the rope lined lilly pads. Runner up Tony Kent capped a fine weekend with 168-04 from peg 4 and a consecutive 150lb+ weight in two days. Tony fished tight to the bank for his fish and avoided too many foul hooked fish; something others were finding hard to master! Rolf commented "Over the weekend it has been close to impossible to catch fish on the deck. Those concentrating on catching 1m deep on the long pole had mostly been rewarded with good weights." With Cat food now banned Rolf announced "From 01 July 03 one SMALL tin of sweetcorn may be used as a change bait. Should he find any angler taking tins to the bank, or worse leaving them there, he would once again ban the bait without hesitation. Click Hot Pegz to review the latest Peg leader board (Golden Pegs 17, 32, 36, 40) Golden Pegs will remain at 4 Book Early for the Next Weekend - Once again Very Few Pegs remaining” |
