As a warm-up/practice to the Easter VDE Festival,  the Good Friday Match turned out to be a very good Friday for Lake expert Gary Thorpe (Ton Up Pellets.)

Drawn on Peg 15,  Gary fished at 16m with sprayed Ton-Up-Pellets over his pellet hook bait presented just 1m deep.  Once again,  Gary soon found himself into a good rhythm and fell just short of the 200lb barrier with a winning weight of 191-12-0.  Elsewhere, P Coxhead (Daiwa Swindon) and Alex Bones (Emap) both found themselves with a few fish in front of them.  With a strong NE Wind, presenting a bait at 16m proved a little more difficult and a few quiet periods restricted the chasing anglers to 143-08-0 and 137-04-0 respectively!!! M Burns on Peg 25 took a string of good fish to take eventual 4th place with 107-02-0 and the last of the Ton-Up Plus bags.

VDE backed Mark Sawyer found himself with a 'dead swim' at Peg 4. However, a change of pellets to a Nut Flavoring resulted in a few bites at 7m to rescue a respectable 88-04-0 return.
