Hat-Trick
of Tons on Sunday
Russell
Alexander (Surbition Angling) As with yesterday
the winner came from the more sheltered Car Park Bank (Peg 25.)
It was lake regular Russell Alexander who piped yesterdays winner
for the Top spot with a cracking return of 128lb 12oz of sweetcorn
tempted Carp. Russell had a very slow start, however, with a number
of big fish in the second half of the match, a good weight was always
on the cards. For the record Russell fished at 16m and fed pellet
via a cup to temp the fish on the deck.
Stan
Robak (Maidenhead Baits) Stan
rounded of a fine weekend with 126lb from peg 14 - a winter favorite.
Unlike Russell, Stan was into fish from the off and looked the most
likely to make it a Christmas Double. However, the fish from this
winter hot spot are known for being a pound or two lighter than
the lake average, and it turned out that Stan finished just one
fish short of his Christmas Bonus!! Again, Stan fished Sweetcorn
over potted pellets at 15m.
Elsewhere.
Gary Thorpe got over the news that there was no fish in his peg
(as highlighted with a fish finder prior to the draw!!) to land
5 or 6 fish towards the end to finally prove that he can catch fish
that aren't even there!! No hope for us mortals after all. Interestingly,
the fish finder was that accurate that most of the fish in one peg
could be spotted 4ft off bottom not moving - apart from one of about
20lb feeding on the deck!
Carp
to be had on most pegs, however, tempting more than a hand full
to feed will get most into the top 6 at the moment. Expect pegs
14,15, 23,24 and 25 to start putting some good points together in
the Hot Pegz league.
