REVIEW

IF YOU DON'T AT FIRST SUCCEED..... HELP YOUR BOSS OUT!!!

Mick McDermott (Steven's Tackle) drew Peg 4 and took full advantage of his ever increasing knowledge of the lake. By fishing on top of a small bar that runs between Peg 4 and 36 he took fish consistently for a winning 114-04.   On top of the Bar it is only 1m (ish) deep and drops away to around 1.6m, Mick fished a dead depth on the top for most of his fish.   Rolf reported that Mick was estimating his return at around 70lb (ish) -- Haven't we all done that from time to time??

On Peg 2 sat Gary Thorpe pulling his hair out! With so many fish up in the water and cruising around it was almost impossible to temp them with pellet baits. The fish are, and have been, ready for spawning for some weeks. On arrival the lake was black with Carp on the top. Most of them stayed there and managed to avoid the weekly trip to a keep-net thanks to an overpowering urge to get a 'Leg Over'; or should that be fin over? Anyway, I waffle on....... As such, Gary decided that his knowledge would be best shared with his 'Gaffer' on peg 8.   Sure enough, it was Peg 8 and J Haseler (Tring Anglers) that took runners-up spot with a deserved 95-05.

In full view of Peg 8 was Pete Wedgebrow (Slapheads) on 13. Pete finished an agonizing 1oz behind the Tring backed J Haseler with 95-04 of Carp caught up in the water. Other framing weights mostly came from the car park bank with the exception of G Mole (Stevens Tackle) on Peg 37 in 4th place with a 47lb bag. Stan Robak (Maidenhead Baits) on Peg 25 topped the Car park bank with 64lb + for 4th place.
