REVIEW

Double Sunday wins for Dave

Rolfslake Match Winner

Winner Dave Wightman (Simons 2000)

As of next week (Sat 1 Nov 03) Silver Fish and Carp will be allowed, Silver fish must be in a third net with no carp. £20 All-In (Golden Peg/Silver Fish & Carp/ & Pegging Fee).

Dave Wightman (Simons 2000) Drawn on lucky peg 13, and thank-full to John Lees for putting a bit of food in yesterday. Dave Wightman (Simons 2000) completed back to back Sunday wins at Rolfslake in great style.   Dave fished sweetcorn over pellet on a 14m line, although he concentrated the pellet at 12m. He managed to consitangly pick off fish from around his small carpet of feed.  A tactic that returned a net busting 124lb 08oz in a week of continual frosts.

Ginger (Slapheads) Fishing a comfortable line at 13m,  Ginger (Slapheads) took a steady run of fish on sweetcorn in full view of match winner Dave.   Although Ginger and Dave exchanged fish for most of the match, it was the Slapheads backed angler that fell a few fish short of victory. Ginger returned a bumper 113lb 12oz, enough to have won any of the last two matches.

Russell Alexander (Surbiton Angling) Unable to catch fish close in, the Surbiton backed Russell Alexander fished a long pole at 15m with Sweetcorn hook baits over pellet for a steady 106lb.

Elsewhere - Slow starts for most after another crisp frost. Sweetcorn doing the business this weekend, with the bait putting carp in nets on all pegs.

If cold weather keeps up - and its forecasted - expect the Silver fish to play a part in next weekends proceedings.
