New World and British Record was set for a 3 1/2 hour Match at Rolfslake
by the local lake expert Gary Thorpe. The Ton Up Baits backed angler
fished on Peg 32 for an astonishing 3 1/2 hour return of 437lb.
The
weight would have been enough to set new records for a 5hr match.
Rolf was please for Gary and estimated the weight would have been
over 600lb had it been the full 5hrs. With the lake in such hot
form it is unlikely the current 5hr UK record will stand for much
longer.
Gary
fished a large lump of paste at 6m. As the weight would suggest,
he was into fish straight away. It was just a matter of keeping
them coming and landing them quickly without disrupting the swim
- a technique Gary has mastered well over the years with his faithful
Garbilino Renaiissance.
