Stan Robak (Ton Up Baits) Having recently been taken into the 'Ton Up Clan,' Local angler Stan Robak rewarded his new sponsors with a 'marginal' win from Peg 27. Fishing just 8m out Stan alternated between Paste and Pellet hook baits to keep the fish coming for a cracking return of 155lb-12oz

Colin Wedgbrow. (Slapheads) With the mid week frosts and a consequent sudden drop in water temperature, Colin tried an alternative bait in Worms (Yep just good old fashioned worms - and not a pellet in sight!) Colin started at around 7 to 8m for a few fish, but a switch to the inside proved to be the business. On this line he fished tight against the bank to his right were a small gravel bar exists on Peg 38. However, Colin fell just one fish short of victory with 154lb 8oz. The big question is how many of the Sunday faithfull will turn up with a Kilo of worms this Saturday?

John Lees (Oxford Match Group) Just like Colin, Oxford's John Lees fished a close in gravel bar for a good number of his fish in a ton plus return for 3rd place. John alternated Paste and Pellet baits but like most of the anglers on the bank today he struggled in the early hours of the match. This is usually the case when no match has taken place on the Saturday (Rolf had to complete a number of jobs prior to winter knocking on the door!)

Elsewhere - A Slow start with cooling temperatures both the anglers and the fish 'cooled off' from the previous weeks treble ton bags. Carp seem also seem to be wiser to the large paste baits as expected by most.
