Plenty of fish being taken on baits other than Paste. However, with weather warming again expect a comeback next Sunday. Plenty of fish on Pellet fished shallow, however, to frame at the moment it seems a peg that will produce a fish or two from the margin is a must.
Gary Thorpe
(Ton Up Baits)
260lb Peg 7
Gary Thorpe took yet another double ton from Peg 7 in the Sunday Open at Rolfslake. As match fishing weights continue to be the best and most consist ant in the country from the lake, the Ton Up Baits anger took full advantage of a good draw as he plundered the inside line for the bulk of his catch.
Once again the key to Gary's success was the 4mm pellet feed and a very positive approach from one of the favorites to set a new European & World record from the Oxfordshire complex. Gary's win polished off a good weekends sport at the lake that witnessed weights well into 300lb from Peg 5 - however, Peg 7 has been one of the most consistent this summer as fish come in to the overhanging grasses to the right of the peg.
