Mark
Bedford (Stevens Tackle)
It
turned out to be a Good Friday for Mark Bedford on form Peg
24. Mark found fish from the off and spend the full 5 hours
plundering the peg at 16m to win the warm up match for the
VDE Easter Festival. Mark fished Pellet hook baits on the
deck and later in the match up in the water as the sun warmed.
Les
Williams (Bristol)
Having
made the journey from the SW, it was Bristol based Angler
Les Williams who found himself into a few fish on Peg 16.
Fishing long and on the deck at 16m with soft Pellet over
4mm Ton Up Baits sinkers, Les took fish to double figures
for runners up spot with 89lb 12oz.

Elsewhere
Heavy
overnight frost seemed to kill sport on all but the flyers.
Some Silver fish to be had but even these seemed slow to start
on this cold Friday morning. For those not drawn on Carp flyers
the few silver fish kept an interest.
A
quick word for my good friend and team mate Andy Johnstone
who came 6th in the match. Now Andy has been know for drawing
two types of pegs - good ones and flyers! Following a move
last year to Norfolk, a return to Rolfslake for the first
time in 8 months resulted in Andy drawing peg 15! A comment
from those yet to draw was "Andy's not changed hey?"
Consequently, Andy has adopted a new name 'Picasso' - Cheers
Mate.
