As one of the Countries top Paste/Carp Match Anglers, the challenge of fishing against the the Rolfslake venue expert, Gary Thorpe was one to relish for Andy Findlay.

Drawn on Peg 21, Andy found a good number of fish for a close to 200lb bag and enjoyed fish blowing in the peg for the full 5hrs of the challenge. With Gary struggling for a Carp on any line, Andy continued to produce fish after fish and from very early in the match he had established a substantial lead. Andy eventually put 189lb 9oz on the scales for another victory for the challenger in the popular Venue Expert v Top Matchman Series.

56lb 8oz Peg 19

Fishing a short 6m line over paste Gary failed to draw many fish at all. With Perch taking his paste baits on the short line, even attempting to take a few fish up in the water on a long line failed for the UNLUCKY venue expert.

Peg 19 had produced all weekend and the two pegs were picked for both being a close match and good for the Press! Unfortunately, the peg switched off in dramatic style at the expense of the disappointed Gary.
