| Russell Alexander (Rolfslake )
Peg 15 is quickly becoming the Peg to draw as it has rarely been outside of the frame in the last month or so. Add to the Peg a quality angler and Bingo!
Russell Alexander fed just over 3 bags of Ton Up Bait pellets over the period of 5 hours to keep a few fish feeding up in the water. Russell soaks his pellet the night prior to fishing and the small particles that fall off as the pellet hits the water gives both the fish and Russell plenty of confidence. Russell fished at 14m and fished about 1ft deep in 7ft of water for his match winning weight of 152lb 12oz
With the fish cruising more and more as the sun warmed the water, plenty of anglers struggled to get a run of fish together - me being one of those, I just mugged the odd fish throughout the match and never got going at all
Chris Davis (Prestwood & Dist)
Chris was rewarded for his continued hard work with the day's admin (I think he just like to sit in the hut in case it rains?) with a decent draw in Peg 4.
As with previous matches the peg started a little slowly but a few fish moved in on the inside and this is where Chris concentrated his effort. Going into the last hour Chris was flying, and a number of 'weighers' followed each other 11,12,13lb fish in a matter of minutes boosted his weight considerably. Unfortunately, Rolf blew the horn on 5hrs when the Peg was just getting close to boiling point. Chris returned 129lb 8oz.
Dan Jones (Starlets)
Dan carried some unbelievable form into this match and the Starlets backed angler used this to squeeze a superb weight from an out of sorts peg. Dan fished pellet up in the water for a third place 96lb 8oz.

Scorchio Scorchio!! Blazing Sun and cruising Carp are not the best signs off a day for bagging at Rolfslake. However, get the feeding right and a few fish can be taken up in water on most pegs. Plenty of fish on Peg 8 at the moment, expect this peg to chuck up the first 300lb bag of the year before too long. Norman (Tony) Youlden (Rolfslake) had to suffer a string of foul hooked fish today and returned short of 1lb in scales alone! However, a bonus Tench and a couple of Chub did give a bit of the Silver fish coin behind Dave Wightman (Simons 2000) |
