Norman Youldon
(Rolfslake)
Peg 23 - 76lb

With no ice to break, sport took a turn for the better on New Years Day. Cashing in on a decent draw, although I think he would have been happier with the peg next door (24,) Norman converted a good draw into a comfortable win with 76lb of sweetcorn tempted Carp on the Bomb Rod fished just past 20m.

Norman Youldon at the ready for a winter assult on Rolfslake. Weapons include a Bomb Rod and 2 Top Sets and a Cupping Kit - and a decent draw.

Simple.

The fight for second spot was contested between Matt Nutt and Chris Davis in a great next door peg battle. Matt Nutt sat on Peg 16 and just managed to keep his nose in front of Chris on 15 with just one fish the difference at the weigh in. Matt hauled a decent 44lb to the scales and finished ahead of Chris by a clear 3lb but some 32lb behind winner Norman.

Once again Gary Thorpe (GOT TonUp 05) made up the best of the rest with a scratched 30lb from peg 17. It seems the fish a starting to look for feed following a milder night. With a few mild days forecasted during the week I'm sure the lake will continue to improve.

As the weather continues to be out of sorts, Rolf has lifted the ban on the feeder rod. The lifting of the ban will be on a trial basis and will last until 01 Apr 05, although Rolf reserves the right to re- impose the ban.  A maximum main line of 5lb will be enforce - so don't forget to set those clutches. (NO BRAIDS). Bomb Only - Running Lead. NO FEEDERS.

PICTURE REVIEW

Matt Nutt
Rolfslake

Matt seems to have hit top gear coming out of the Christmas/New Year period. A number of frames in difficult conditions have boosted the pocket and kept the Rolfslake match angler smiling.

Gary Thorpe
GOT TonUp 05.

High and Cold water has been the culprate for the run of poor matches at Rolfslake. Gary takes his time in putting a Carp into one of the waiting keepnets.
