Sunday 01 May 2005 - Open Match

Kevin Arathoon
(GOT Baits)
Peg 37 - 190lb

"Chopping and Changing the Key for Kevin"

Fishing between at 12 and 16m was the key for Kevin Arathoon (GOT Baits) today at Rolfslake. Kevin drew yesterdays winning peg and proceeded to take the best weight of the year so far with a net busing 190lb. However, with the fish enjoying the bank holiday weekend weather, it was obvious that the sunshine had sparked the fish into a pre-spawning basking session - much to the annoyance of the expectant match anglers.

Peg 37 double win this weekend.

Kevin fished a GOT Baits 6mm soft hooker or a GOT Baits 6mm expander over the top of 4mm singing GOT Baits Pellet (Much to the delight of his new sponsor GOT Baits!) Kevin had little trouble getting bites but found that chopping and changing lines kept the fish coming quicker. Elsewhere Mick Lane (Swindon) took the only other TON UP weight from next door to Kevin on Peg 38 with 110lb 8oz. With fish getting ready to spawn it was hard going on ALL the other pegs and 31lb was good enough for Colin Storey from Peg 14 to take 3rd spot.

PICTURE REVIEW
Kevin Arathoon
GOT Baits.

Kevin's a long pole specialist at Rolfs Lake, winning today by taking 190lb of fish at 10m & 15m from in-form Peg 37. Kevin fished the match totally unaware that it was fishing poorly elsewhere!

Mick Lane
Swindon

Mick took full advantage of the wind blowing into the Corner with 110lb + from peg 38.
