Breaking the UK Record at Rolfslake is one of two things: a. Inevitable, and b. Jinxed. Today Gary Thorpe finished the match fishing at just 5m up in the water with the Carp coming thick and fast. Gary knew he would be close to the Magical 417lb 12oz needed. However, having left him until last to weight, he dropped the 4th of his nets into the margin of his swim and despite jumping in and retrieving the net, many fish had escaped and only a few 'mug' fish remained to add to his already enormous total.. The verdict was 365lb 8oz for a match win, but who knows what the weight would have been?

John Lees (GOT Baits) fished Gary's peg of the moment, Peg 7, and returned a fantastic 316lb fishing pellet hookbait's. Russell Alexander (GOT Baits) completed the the GOT Baits 'Triple of Treble Tons' fishing GOT Paste at Peg 17.

Elsewhere the lake is fishing well with Paste starting to produce some big weights. Peter Thomson took 4th by fishing golf ball size lumps of soft paste in the margin at peg 2 for 4th. In total 11 Ton Up weights were taken today in near to perfect conditions.
