Matt Nutt "A late summer heat wave hit the lake this weekend - No wind but a few fish " Gary fished the same tactic that won him the summer festival with a perfect 30 points - spraying up in the water for a Ton Up weight. John Hauge came 4th from Peg 14 fishing close on pellet & paste - only one fish separated Gary and John, but Gary's 108lb pushed John's 106lb down the coin.
Drawn on one of the favorite summer pegs, 32, Nick Williams took fish steadily throughout the match but struggled to keep pace with match winner Matt Nutt sitting opposite. Although he enjoyed a great day out at the oxfordshire match venue. Fishing continues to be slow at the start of matches. However, building on your weight seems to be key. Take one fish at a time and be committed to the tactic you have chosen. It's better to fish the wrong tactic well than 3 or 4 badly - I guess it's even better to fish the right tactic well!! but we can't all have crystal balls like Gary? For an alternative try feeding a higher number of small expander pellet and cut back the 4mm sinkers. This may get a few extra paste fish and keep the Carp interested in feeding a little longer. |
