Sunday 10th April 2005 - Open Match

Colin Storey
(Ton Up Baits)
Peg 23 126lb 4oz

"Fish responded better today with sprayed pellet "

Fishing at 16m and spraying 4mm pellet on peg 23 was the key for Ton Up Baits matchman Colin Storey. Drawing next to peg 24 is never much fun, but today Colin turned the books upside down a sprayed 4mm pellet from the off in an attempt to draw the fish off from the bar and onto his feed. Some 5hrs later, Colin returned a belting 126lb 4oz to the scales for a clear win.

Rolfs Lake Mal Talbot

Colin Storey
(TUB)

Spayed pellet was the key for Colin today. His up in the water catch was by far the best of the weekend.

Gary Britten, (Selby) enjoyed a good day's sport at Peg 19 for runners-up spot. Fishing large pieces of luncheon meat on the hook, he took a run of good fish to double figures to return 87lb 8oz and push unlucky Keith Ashby into 3rd at Peg 24. Elsewhere, the fishing was hard on the lake as the water temperature struggles to reach anything that resembles the current season. Soft pellet and Meat the key following the seasonal ban of sweetcorn.
