Sunday 12th June - Open Match

Gary Thorpe
(GOT Baits)
Peg 7- 296lb 12oz

"Still Spawning... but fishing better "

Gary Thorpe commented at the draw bag that Peg 7 would do him nicely, and how right he was! Five hours and 296lb 12oz's later, Gary blew away all comers by the tune of at least 150lb from the weekend hotspot Peg 7. Fishing hard pellet on the hook, Gary took fish on the deck and later in the match up in the water. His key was feeding GOT feeder pellets, and lots of them. As of next week these are the only pellet allowed at the venue - it seems the fish will not be complaining about Rolf's decision. On the plus side, GOT Baits have a very competitive deal with Rolfslake that will advantage all anglers that visit the Oxfordshire venue.

A good angler would have had 300lb from that peg today!.

Elsewhere, not as busy as Gary's peg but still plenty of fish to showing. Paste still not accounted for any single big weights, but It's just a matter of days now. A few bigger fish have already been taken on soft paste as the Carp have started to blow more and more. Watch this space.

PICTURE REVIEW
Gary Thorpe
GOT Baits.

When it comes to big weights, Gary Thorpe has to be up there with the best. Given that he asked for Peg 7 at the draw (even Andy Johnstone not that lucky, well maybe...) Gary never looked back from the off as he kept the fish interested with 'plenty' of 4mm GOT Pellet feed.

Trevor Price
GOT Baits.

Trev getting to grips with one of the lakes smaller carp..

Colin Wedgbrow
Colmic.

Colin also found some of the lake smaller fish today.

Phil Powell
Swindon.

Phil mostly traded in Lumps today. His bag included two fish over 20lb. I guess this may have been one of those?

Landing nets can take a bashing at Rolfslake. It's best to support the net at the base and half way back along the top section of the landing net handle. As demonstrated here by Kevin Wilder, thanks Kev.
