Saturday 19th February 2005 - Open Match

Gary Thorpe
(GOT Ton UP)
Peg 24 - 96lb

Gary Thorpe doesn't draw good pegs, or so he often can be heard to mutter as he leaves the draw hut! Well he's right and for the second week running he drew a Fantastic Peg! Peg 24. This week Gary once again used up the rest of the bag of his new GOT TON UP pellets to draw 97lb of prime winter Carp from the chilled waters at the Rolfslake hot spot. Gary was delighted with the drawing power of his new pellet as he once again almost doubled the weight of those around him.

(GOT Ton UP)

Can't draw decent pegs... Gary can only draw fliers these days! At least it wasn't the Golden peg again. (Picture from last weeks win on Peg 24!)

Gary's win was made a touch easier with Stan Robak's somewhat obsessive draw to the silver fish, even though he had drawn a belting in form Carp peg. Unable to catch any Silver's Stan switched to the Carp line and plundered 51lb 8oz for runners up spot - pushing Pete Coxhead down to 3rd who took 49lb from the consistent peg 15. Pete fished long and fished sweetcorn on the deck over 2 and 4mm pellet at 16m, as did 1st and 2nd place.

FINAL reminder from Rolf: Easter Festival. Entrance Fees should be paid by Close of Play 01 Mar 05. Reserves may be given any unpaid slots from 01 Mar 05. You've all been warned.

PICTURE REVIEW

Dave Hoare
Rolfslake

Dave nets a nice 13lb Carp.

Robin Flowers
Ton Up Baits

Robin enjoying his favorite past time - Float watching! Unlike Gary, Robin doesn't enjoy the best of luck at the draw bag. Maybe get Gary to pull a peg out for you Robin?

Robin keeps a close eye on Gary cating across the lake.

Gary Thorpe
GOT TON UP

Gary on his way to a close Ton of prime winter Carp from Peg 24 today.

No one told Gary that once you've draw your peg that your should had it back into the hut!

All the same, I'll not complain if I ever drew Peg 24 twice on the bounce. Can you imagine the uproar should Gary draw 24 next week? Here's to that hey Gary?
