Mal Talbot
(Kamasan)
Peg 32 - 107lb
"Sport Picks up at the weekend "
Fishing at 10m on Peg 32 with Pellet on the deck over cupped in pellet was good enough for victory in the Saturday Open Match at Rolfslake for Kamasan's Mal Talbot. With lake regular Norman Youlden on Golden Peg 24, and with peg 24 winning 4 of the last 5 matches, it was quite a surprise that Mal returned 107lb from the unpopular spring time peg to win the match.
Mal's catch included some big fish, with a new PB 19lb Mirror Carp (pic below) that boosted him from 4th to 1st with just one fish, proving that you should never give up at Rolfslake.

Mal Talbot
(Kamasan)
Fishing 10m and feeding via a cup kept the bites coming for Mal today. |
Despite dipping temperatures towards the end of the week, the lake is starting to show some form. Gary Thorpe, GOT Baits, took 49lb 8oz for 7th place in a close match. Norman Youlden finished 2nd from 24 with 97lb 8oz, followed by Ken Spratton, John Lees and Chris Davis with 90lb, 85lb and 74lb respectively - which amounts to about 5 fish separating the top 5. |
