Sunday 24th April 2005 - Open Match

Bernie Fraser
(Ton Up Baits)
Peg 32 - 107lb

"Sport Picks up at the weekend "

Fishing on Peg 25 can be bad for your neck, as you spend most of the match watching Peg 24. However, that was not the case today. Bernie Fraser took a positive approach from the starting blow of the horn and never had time to look back let alone right or left. By fishing at 15m and constantly feeding 4mm pellet over the top, Bernie presented soft pellet on the deck and took a good run of fish that totaled 173lb 8oz to record the best weight of the year so far.

(TUB)

Victory for Peg 25! Bernie the Wizard pulls 173lb 8oz from the Hat at Peg 25.

Yesterdays winner, Mal Talbot, had drawn Peg 24 and consequently ran to his peg rubbing his hands at the thoughts of adding to yesterdays win. The double was not to be, however, a fine 147lb of fighting Carp headed a brace of Ton up weights this weekend and added a few quid to the coffers. Dan Jones and Colin Storey both recorded 140+lb weights to take 3rd and 4th respectively as 93lb was only good enough for 5th for Ernie Malyon on Peg 34.

PICTURE REVIEW
Eddy Taylor Green

Eddy Hanging on to a decent Carp at Rolfslake this Sunday.

Matt Nutt
GOT Baits

Matt stands to land a fish, but Matt is so 'ickle' it makes little difference! (Sorry, Matt couldn't resist that).

Mick Jones
Rolfslake

Mick has started to get used to a few pegs now and returned a good 77lb by fishing very short at Peg 17. Maybe the paste will start fishing soon?

Dan Jones
TUB

Dan lands a good fish at 15, but couldn't keep pace with pegs 24 and 25 in full view on the opposite bank.
