Sunday 29th May 2005 - Open Match
Matt Nutt "Heavy Feeding & Fishing Short the Key in most pegs, although Carp now ready to spawn "
Elsewhere, Bernie Fraser (TUB) had a good day at Peg 4. By chopping and changing between fishing the edge and on the deck at 8m, he managed to return a very busy and deserved 197lb 4oz for 2nd place and drop GOT Baits matchman Vic Nugent to 3rd - who recorded his first TON UP weight from peg 14. Vic won he battle for 3rd place ahead of Ginger (Slapheads) by 1lb who had taken 162lb 8oz from Peg 28 and Trev Price (GOT Baits) with 152lb 12oz. Kevin Arathoon finished just 1lb short of 150lb from Peg 1 The Carp are ready to spawn and seemed to be waiting for some privacy and a little more sunshine. Paste still not taken over from the Pellet, but with water temperature slowing rising the 'change' can not be too far off - maybe next weekend? GOT Baits matchman Gary Thorpe took an amazing 8lb Chub to break the Lake Record. The fish was clearly a young fish according to Rolf who estimates the 7lb 15oz fish taken in winter could now be a mid 8lb fish that would put Gary's fish into the shade!!! |
