Rolfs' Diary 2006

Open Match
.
Wednesday 12 th April 2006

Loyd Moss had a fish first put in on Peg 14 and never looked like anything other than the winner. A few other anglers also caught early but failed to keep up any catch rate. Bites proving hard to come by, but an improvement on the previous weeks fishing.

Loyd fished chucks of bread on the hook over 4mm hard cold water sinkers and expander pellet. Most fish today were taken on meat and pellet, but it was the lack of fish in the corner pegs that was worthy of note. With fish topping out prior to the match, the fish soon left Colin Wedgbrow and Pete Archer pulling out what little hair they have (actually, only Pete has any!) The too anglers took only 1 Carp in the five hours.

'Match Winner - Loyd Moss'

The festival is only a few days away and I'm hopeful that a few fish will be had and a few of the first double Ton up Bags will feature. Failing that, I'll have a good crack all the same.

Barry Morgan
-

Barry joined the likes of Pete Archer with a Carpless five hours. Not matter what he did, he just couldn't get a fish..

John Bennett

John Stands to net annother fish. For a long period of the match John looked to push all the way but fell off his catch rate in the middle of the match. Still couldn't catch on Paste!

Keith Ashby

A few fish for Keith today put him into 4th place. It seemed the motorway bank was the place to bee today.
