Rolfs' Diary 2006

Busy Evening in at out of the bivvy results in Sunday Sleep over!
15 Jan 05 :
Specimen Angling.

Brian Byford, Gary Newman and friends (well Rolf didn't get their Names) enjoyed an Evening fishing (Saturday Night) at Rolfslake this weekend. Following a steady start to the session, things got quieter as the night became and the Carp went off the feed.

Rolfs Lake Match Winner

'Down for the Weekend'

Reportedly, Gary Newman had taken the most fish during the night, but never raised from his bivvy until late morning by way of recovery. The quartet continued to take a good number of low doubles but failed to tempt any of the big twenties that lurk round the Oxfordshire Complex.

Brian Byford

A touch of mid-day sport for Brian, but the end result was yet another mid-double for the specimen angler.

paste fishing A decent Carp taken in dry mild conditions, but the Bigger fish failed to show today.
paste fishing Even as winter takes a grip, the Common and Mirror Carp at Rolfslake are in fin perfect condition. Bryan admires a double prior to returning the fish to carry on growing towards the twenties and thirties.

On Your Marks.........

The trap is set, just a matter of waiting for one of the many thirties in the lake. The hardest thing is getting through the mid-doubles.
