Spring League Day 5 of 6
It seems that the lake has woken up to some top fishing and Day 5 of 6 in the Spring league was no exception. Mick Lane took top spot from peg 28 with a fine 164lb 8oz, just 8oz's ahead of fisherman's friend matchman Colin Wedgbrow who had drawn form peg 19.
John Walker Once again, worms played a part in the fish taken, but it remains a best kept secret! It seems loose fed pellet combined with luncheon meat or worm hook baits will take plenty of fish. The traditional Paste approach seems to be a little slower as the fishery settles down to the new bait rules.
Jack Drew Only 2 anglers failed to put at least 50lb on the scales as the lake continues to improve. Expect the fish to start feeding on the paste very soon. There were also 7 Ton plus weights despite plenty of cool rain water in the lake.
