Rolfs' Diary 2007

Wednesday Open
02 May 2007
(Afternoon Match)

Phil Powell had a red letter day on Peg 10 with a massive 347lb 8oz of quality Carp in near perfect weather. Phil fished luncheon meat and pellet on a feeder to take about 200lb of Carp. With the peg slowing down to a halt, a switch to the pole on a shorter line produced an immediate response and a near 150lb was added to the already substantial total.

Match Winner

Plenty of Good Fishing and Good Weather at Rolfslake

In a match packed with big weights, Phil needed every pound of fish in his total as Mick Lane on Peg 8 was have a blinder on Peg 8, fishing tight over with pellet over pellet (approx 15m) the Swindon matchman was also producing plenty of double figure Carp. Mick finnished with 328lb+, just 2 good fish behind Phil on 347lb+ - and there were plenty of good fish on offer too.

Elsewhere, the summer pegs have started to show - with 34, 37, 4 and 6 all featuring with big Ton Plus weights. It looks like it's time to get booked into a Rolfslake open, tickets are always available - drop Rolf a call to book you place in the next match. Still waiting for the first big Paste weight of the season, maybe the weekend?

Note from Rolf: Bread now has reached it's seasonal summer ban - so that's it for the bread, back to being Sandwich and Toast until the Winter! Time to try the Paste I guess!

Eddy Taylor Green
Rolfslake

A Ton Up weight for ETG - his Ton wasn't boosted much the an abundance of Raoch at Peg 9. Eddy did better on the feeder than the pole, but the line died with his chances of a top 3 place!
