With the lake still filled to the brim the first job for the Wednesday crew was to pump some of the water out of the lake. This delayed the start of the match by an hour as the only one who could fish on the platform was captain Nemo. The drama of the match came in the 2nd hour when Bill Galt was playing a fish and the number 8 section broke, and off went his garbolino power maxim around the lake with the fish attached. Such is the sporting nature of the guys in these matches mike ,colin, john and myself tried to to get his pole back from the middle of the big lake. With feeders flying around trying to get his pole ,my cast went about 10 foot away from his pole only to be greeted with the tip going around and the fish was on ,together with his pole ,who says Bill is not lucky?.
Anyway back to the match on a cold windy day, lucky peg 7 continued its great run of form , this time with Mike Stimson fishing a combination of feeder and 16mtr pole using meat/and pellet to catch a deserving 184-06 from the grass on the far bank.

The race for 2nd place was close and only 2 fish separated two of the most consistent anglers on the lake John Walker and Phil Powell.
John fished peg 34 using both feeder and 13 mtr pole along the buoys to catch 169-05 ,to Phil fishing peg 10 using pole up shallow and on the bottom at 14 mtr's using pellet/meat for a weight of 157-04.On a difficult day there was still 6 weights of 100lb or more, just to prove how good this lake really is.
Just a final note from all the lads: Get well soon to Rolf and don't rush back, the guys will look after the lake until you are ready to resume - we're having fun doing so too!
