Rolfs' Diary 2007
Winter League Match 1 of 6 The venue had been rested since the last of the 2006 winter league matches late last December, additionally this winter league is the first for a few years to allow a running line in the form of a waggler or non-fixed feeder.
Ian McCulloch with a Smile as big as the Carp Loyd Moss won the match fishing waggler and feeder on the bar with bread punch (reportedly of a reasonable size) Loyd continues a run of results that started last year with a string of fine match wins. With a win in the first match it seems Loyd will be the angler to beat in coming matches too. John Walker fished a waggler 'over' at peg 7 for an unsurprising section win with 49lb against a 2lb weight that was good enough for 2nd place in the hardest section in the shallow lake. John also fished punched bread and flake and took a few fish in the channel mid way across to the far side. Ian McCulloch took a fine 41lb 12oz from peg 29 to take the final section win on offer. Rolfs Team Diamond stole the day with an outstanding 20 points - some 4 points ahead of the chasing pack. Hot favourite's, Rolfs Team Gold found themselves 'floundering' in 3rd some 7 points off the so called 'B' Team!
