The Wednesday crew resumed for their regular midweek banter ,without Rolf in attendance but were maybe hoping to see him during the match at some stage. The weather was a lot cooler than at the beginning of the week and rain was forecasted for the day .

The big question at the draw, was who was going to draw inform peg 7, as each person drew no peg 7 came out and there was only 2 numbers left in the bag, Colin Wedgebrow pulled out peg 34 and my eyes lit up on the thought of a good days fishing. In my hand went as i was smiling and pulled out PEG 38  to my disappointment, as golden draw hand John Bennett had not revealed his peg till last ,as he opened his hand there was peg 7 we were not amused .

John Walker today had decided that because of his good form of late he was going to give every one a half hour start as he was late to the lake .John W went off to his peg 22 and spent an enjoyable 4 and a half hours fishing shallow at 9 meters and down the edge for a mixed bag of bream /roach and carp for 1st place weighing 201-08 . What was amazing about this match was the blatant underestimating of the weights ,John W was claiming i've just got over the ton, yes John a hundred pound over the ton well done.

In second place was another person not placed under oath as Bill Galt fishing peg 30 fishing meat shallow put together a very good 189-08 again claiming i,ll be lucky to have a ton.In third place was the consistent Colin Wedgebrow who struggled for the first 3 hours but came back strongly in the last 2 to put together a weight of 185-08 and only 2 fish off 1st place. Colin fished along the buoys fishing pellet and meat at 11 mtr's to complete the frame.

Spare a thought for John Bennett on peg 7 who should of won the match, but when Rolf arrived he spent about an hour talking to Rolf and relaying the anglers concern for Rolf's sudden and very serious illness, not thinking of personal glory just of concern for the Fishery Owner's health. It was great to see Rolf enjoy a chat with the lads after the match and even took a moment to find a smile at the continual banter in the Car Park.
