Rolfs' Diary 2007
Summer League Match 5 of 6 Reported by Eddy Taylor Green With the league reaching the final two rounds and three teams still chasing the title ,it was important to get a good draw. Rolfs Team Gold did exactly this with their team of John Bennett, Mick Lane, and Phil Powell all drawing great pegs in this round. In first place on the day was Mick Lane, who drawn on peg 23 was happy to fish his usual long pole {14mtrs} fishing shallow ,alternating at depths of between 12 inches and 3 feet fishing pellet feeding pellet for a weight of 210-12 and a deserved win. As with recent match winners, Mick was also able to bring the fish closer towards the end of the match to a range of 6 meters which helped him speed up his catch rate.
Eddy Taylor Green - Match Reporter Today. In second place was John Bennett {who i spent most of my time watching} fishing peg 32, using his various paste mixes, fishing tight to the bush on his left just past the shelf, feeding heavy with pellet. His weight of 192-08 is a result of many years experimenting with paste as most of the other anglers struggled to get bites on paste today. Completing the frame today was the last member of the team Phil Powell who was fishing on another form peg ,peg 7 and proceeded to fish shallow for the full 5 hours towards the bouys at depths of between 1-3 feet fishing pellet/meat feeding pellet for a weight of 183-08.. Rolfs Team Gold today fished a brilliant team match gaining maximum points and now lead the league by 15 points from Smithys.
