Rolfs' Diary 2007

Wednesday Open
.
25 April 2007
Fished 1pm to 6pm

Better and Better and Better.... That's how Rolfslake is fishing this spring/summer. Today's Wednesday Open fished from 1pm to 6pm may have had a few pegs spare, but those that did book in witnessed one of the best matches yet this year. Pegs 6, 7 and 8 took an astonishing 750lb+ between them with Joh Walker on peg 7 hanging on for a match win in the middle with a fantastic 265lb return.

Match Winner

Hang On! Winner Jon Walker tames a hard fighting Carp at Peg 7.

Jon took his fish at 16m fishing a 6mm pellet shallow and feeding very heavy to keep the fish feeding aggressively in his peg. Colin Wedgebrow and Phil Powell could only be separated at the scales by 4oz's with returns of 242lb 12oz for Colin and 242lb 8oz for Phil from Pegs 6 and 8 respectively. Phil's peg 8 return included 4 Chub with the best weighing at a masive 7lb. Again feeding heavy was key for both the anglers as they found a number of fish willing to feed in the margins at the popular summer pegs.
