Today saw the car park full to busting with John having to turn anglers away as this match was fished to capacity. With news that big weights were on the cards ,everyone was anticipating a goods days fishing and were not to be disappointed, as again a near 300lb weight was required to win this match.
Today it was a case of right angler right peg ,in the shape of Rolfslake Mick Lane who had drawn peg 7in the gap between the small and big lake. Once Mick arrived at his peg and saw carp topping ,he knew it was going to be a shallow fishing day and set up rigs between 2 and 5feet. The distance fished today was 16 metres towards the buoys ,spraying pellet and fishing a combination of pellet and meat hook baits which helped Mick catch carp to 15-00 in his final weight of 279-00 and a deserved win. In second place was another of Rolfslakes top anglers Jason Gooch who was fishing peg 15 in the bay in the big lake, and who also fished up in the water ,fishing pellet feeding heavy with pellet also catching big carp in his final weight of 186-00.

Runner Up - Jason Gooch
Completing the frame was Mick Jones who today fished shallow at a short range of 5 metres, fishing meat hook bait feeding heavy for his weight of 148-00.
With the opportunities to fish Rolfslake getting fewer and fewer, John has asked me to remind anglers to please phone to confirm their places, as some anglers may be disappointed if they turn up expecting just to get a place.
Rolfslake is now starting to get into serious big weights mode, and as new anglers arrive each week please remember to bring at least 3 nets as the net limits have been set at 100-00 per net to ensure fish welfare ,and these nets must be of the carp variety
Please phone John to book your place on these opens.
