Wednesday Open
With the anglers from the Fish 4 Wales club fishing their three day festival and deciding to join in with the Wednesday open and with 30 anglers on the lake it was going to be important to be at the front of the draw queue.
With the lake recently suffering from low oxygen levels, such has been the weather conditions recently, big weights were not expected and a careful approach was called for.

Owner & Runner Up: John Bennett
The winner today was one of Rolfslakes newest match anglers Liam Bough. Liam fished peg 8 in the gap between the big and small lake, his approach was to fish at a range of 6 mtrs just on top of the bar whilst fishing on the deck using corn and pellet.
Liam's approach seemed to produce fish at regular intervals for his weight of 131-00 and a very deserved win - well done Liam.
In second place was lake owner John Bennett who was continuing with his good run of form at the lake and today was drawn on peg 6.
Today John fished at a range of 6 mtrs and used corn/meat and pellet, feeding much less than normal which helped him in picking off fish for his final weight of 108-00.
Completing the frame was cartel member Mick Lane who was fishing peg 22 in the corner of the big lake. Mick fished against the bushes both to his left and right, and by fishing on the deck using corn as hook bait Mick caught fish to 12-00 in his final weight of 95-12.
The Wednesday matches are continuing throughout the months of September and October, but please phone John Bennett to check on draw times and match times. Rolfslake World record venue Where fishing dreams come true.
