NEVER THROW BACK YOU SILVERS
OR IT WILL COST YOU MONEY.
When I arrived at the lake today I was greeted with a full car park and with not pre-booking my place I was lucky to of got in this match as with over 30 anglers on the lake and only 38 available pegs there was a lesson to be learnt, book before you turn up. With the lake fishing brilliantly at the moment all the anglers were hoping for a great afternoons fishing and a big weight.
In first place today was Rolfslake regular Andy Camden , who had drawn small lake peg 4 and who was expecting great things from this peg. The method for fishing this peg is normally to fish the jungle bush to your right where the big carp normally hide and have a long line straight out in front of you on the bar at 8 mtrs. Andy however fished a much shorter line 5 mtrs out in front , and caught for most of the match fishing pellet and paste/meat catching big fish for his weight 261-12 and a deserved win..

Putting in Down on Stone.....
In second place was big weight specialist Colin Wedgebrow who was fishing the top peg on the lake {peg 32} and who spent a frustrating 2 hours foul hooking fish and the next 3 putting together another big weight. Colin fished soft and banded pellet at a range of 4 mtrs at the end of the bush feeding very heavy {8 bags of feed pellet} catching fish to 15lb and one skimmer which he put back at the end of the match .When the scales came round and after many weighs Colin recorded 261-00 and second place ,but would of been 1st with the skimmer {unlucky Colin}. Completing the frame was Ian McCulloch who was also in the small lake on little used peg 6 and who had a good days fishing fishing up in the water and on the deck, using a combination of corn/ pellet and meat hook baits in his weight of 160-00. The mid week matches are now very popular with the prospects of massive weights on the cards so please phone John to reserve you place
