After the spectacular blow-out of some of the lakes top anglers during the spring league match last weekend, it was normal service resumed this week as the cold weather made catching feeding fish very tough.
The first job for John B was to launch the boat to try and break up the ice that had formed a few days earlier, as we had experienced a very cold few days this week.
In first place today was Rolfslake John Bennett who was fishing in-form peg 18, but found fishing quite difficult due to the floating sheets of ice getting in the way. John opted to fish the feeder with bread ,but found the going slow as he only had a restricted area to fish to ,but later in the match as the ice began to melt John was able to cast towards to peg 19 and this increased his catch rate.

John's back on Grass Cutting Duties!
After 5 hours of tough fishing John was able to put 115-00 onto the scales to secure another deserved win {well done John}. In second place was Phil Powell who was fishing peg 16, but did not have as many problems with the ice as John did ,and was able to fish with the pole, fishing at depth using corn and pellet to catch fish up to double figures in his weight of 83-00. Completing the frame was Jon Walker who was fishing on the car park bank peg 24 and using pole and feeder fishing bread and corn was able to put together his weight of mostly carp for 34-00.
John has informed me there are only three places left for the Easter Festival so if you would like to get involved you had better hurry. John has also asked me to remind the other anglers to please confirm their places asap.
