With the draw time changing to 9.30, it was nice to still see a few anglers turning up to compete in the Wednesday opens. The weather today covered almost everything with a sunny start then going overcast with a cold wind blowing through the lake {a great day for fishing don’t you think} You find that when the weather gets cold and the fishing get hard then its Bennett time as John seems to have a method that catches fish when others struggle!

It was no surprise then to see John Bennett in first place when he drew peg 23 in the corner of the big lake. John today had a simple plan of fishing the pole at a range of 8 mtrs on the deck towards the bush to his right, using his favourite corn hook bait feeding pellet through a kinder cup.

John later in the match switched to the feeder when the pole slowed down and caught fish to 11-00 in his final weight of 119-00.

In second place was Mike Stimson who fished his customary 16 mtrs on the deck, again using corn for hook bait but feeding a little more than John which resulted in slightly bigger fish but three fish short of a match win with 100-12 - but still a good weight. Mike also does well as the lake slows, a patient angler Mike has faith in what he's doing and knows he'll take fish if he sits it out.

Completing the frame was Paul Jay who was fishing form peg 32, and who fished down the edge towards peg 33 using pellet for hook bait and who caught carp at regular intervals in his weight of 86-04.

Matches now both on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Draw 9.30 Fish 10.30 – 3.30 Pleasure fishing by phoning John Bennett to see availability.

No Need for a Trolley
www.roflslake.co.uk

Although John has invested in a petol trolley to get his tackle to his peg, there's been no call for the fishery owner to 'tow his gear' as he can't seem to draw away from the bottom corner pegs... much to his annoyance.
