Fun in the Sun on Bank Holiday Monday
With the anglers gathered at the draw and the sun shining, all they were hoping for was a good draw lots of fish and some money at the end { god the anglers want a lot } but Rolfslake is one place where you can have all three.
In what turned out to be a very good match for most of the anglers but great for one ,it just went to show that when the lake fishes well any weight is possible. In first place was one of Rolfslake regulars Andy Camden who was fishing newly improved but still very little used peg 22 in the corner of the big lake. Andy today concentrated on fishing along the pruned bush to his right , fishing on the deck tight to the bush using both meat and pellet hookbaits catching big fish to 13-00 in his final weight of 351-12 and a new personal best { well done Andy }.

Andy Camden - Match Winner
In second place was Rolfs Team Gold member Mick Lane who was drawn in the small lake on peg 40 which has shown some form in recent weeks and today was no different. Mick today fished very short at a range of 4 mtrs just past the first shelf , and used meat corn and pellet hookbaits feeding heavy to keep the fish interested , and was rewarded with lots of fish to 16-00 in his weight of 263-04. Completing the frame was John Bennett who had drawn my favourite peg on the lake peg 6 and who again fished short range 3-4 mtrs and used his trusty corn and meat hookbait fished on the deck and who also caught big fish later in the match for his weight of 245-04.
In the carpark after the match the anglers commented on how well the lake had fished and when the next 400lb weight would come. History tells me that September normally brings more big weights as the fish pack on weight for the winter.
Matches are still only available on Wednesday so keep up to date by phoning John for more updates.
